On a fairly cold and cloudy day, the warriors of PSCC turned out to face a youthful team hailing from Hurst.

On a decidedly green wicket Goody elected to bowl first. He opened up with himself and Shaun Davies from the wood end, who after a few loose deliveries found his line and got a few to pop up, striking the batsmen on the body. Goody bowled well from the pub end, moving the ball around and taking wickets. The breakthrough came from Goody, who pitched one short that bounced incredibly slowly and the batsman was through his shot too early; Paul Munday taking the catch behind down the leg side. Opposition batsmen fell at regular intervals, but it took a beauty from Michael Davies to remove their no. 1 who was looking fairly comfortable at the crease. Matt Bannister was brought on, and in doing so the run rate increased slightly. However he struck in his third over with googly resulting in a plum lbw. Wickets kept on falling just as the opposition looked set, and eventually they were all out for just 96. Paul Goodchild and Matt Bannister finished with 3 each, Nick Loftus 2, Michael Davies 1 and a run out by Dean Munday capping off a good fielding performance by Penn Street.

Chasing only 97 for victory, PSCC got off to a solid start with Dean and Stu Fafinski opening up the innings. Dean looked in good touch flicking some deliveries well over the leg side for fours. Stu looked safe but struggled to pierce the field. However the heavens opened with Penn Street on 20, and sadly no further play was possible which thwarted the efforts of the batsmen to chase down such a modest total; the game ending in a draw.
