After an eventful journey down to Wembley, where we lost the Mundays to a possible McDonalds stop, the PSCC crew arrived at Old Minorians ground for what was to be a close game and a late start.

It was a welcoming sight to see Damian Ribaudo finally suffer with a hangover and flake out on the boundary edge not needing to bat.

After winning the toss Penn Street elected to bat first with openers Pete Jupp and Nik Collison getting the away team off to a solid start. Collison finally succumbed to a wafted cover drive and got bowled after 8 or so overs. Juppy went on and lost various partners along the way including ducks for the two SA boys. Enter Chris Wildey with new woolly barnet in tact and a forward press that even Geoff Boycott would be proud of. Through sheer determination Chris Wildey hung around and gave much needed time at the crease for Juppy to blast his way to 128 adopting a new “Matty Hayden” technique. So Penn Street finished well with Paul Mundy smashing a 6 off the last ball to give PSCC a respectful total of 205.

It was really in the field where PSCC won this match with fine performances from Peter Lofty (welcome back The Ozzy Gigolo!!), Dean Mundy, Paul Mundy with the best catch I have ever seen to win us the game in the final over, (Paris Hilton - what an arm!!) and great spells of bowling from Damian “Migraine” Ribaudo and Jack Mendy.

A special mention to Nik Collison for adding venom into the PSCC fight back in the field and providing a great spell of bowling and field placing suggestions to a hung over and shattered skipper for the day Pete Jupp.

Great performance by all and there will not be a mention of the buffet bowling from Jupp who managed to take 4 wickets – everyone is still wondering how!!

Great win and thanks to the Old Minorians lads who we all get on well with and enjoy playing every season.
