About Us

The village is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, some 3 miles outside Amersham, Buckinghamshire on the edge of The Chilterns. The village stands on part of the former Wycombe Heath and was probably first established in the late thirteenth century to service the new manor house of the Penn family when they moved from Penbury.

The houses line the road and the oldest goes back to the late fifteenth century. Six others are seventeenth and eighteenth century listed buildings, and a Conservation Area covers most of the village.
We are a small village consisting of some 92 properties.

We benefit from the following amenities

Curzon - Maintained Combined School

Church - Holy Trinity

Pubs - The Hit or Miss - and The Squirrel

A small industrial estate

Penn Wood, an extensive mixed wood

THE PICTURES OPPOSITE GIVE AN IDEA OF THE TRANQUIL NATURE OF VILLAGE
We used to have a Village Hall but since the roof fell in during one evening in July 2000 we have lost part of our village life. We are currently in the process of seeking funding to rebuild the hall - See Village Hall - Rebuilding
